The whole school in your pocket on the ramp

The iPhone and Android apps carry the same Flight Suite HQ your office uses, with sign-in by Face ID, the camera and squawks that wait for a signal.

Without it

  • The student is at the aircraft and has to walk back to the office to check out.
  • A squawk is written on a sticky note because the hangar has no signal.
  • Instructors use one app, the desk uses another, and they disagree about the schedule.

What Mobile Apps does

The same app, everywhere

The apps open the same Flight Suite HQ as the browser, so a change in the office is on the ramp straight away, and an update reaches everyone without a store download. Members see what their role allows, just as on the web.

Sign in once

Sign in natively, then open the app with Face ID or your phone's own unlock.

Book, check out and check in

Bookings, check-out and check-in from the ramp, with the phone's camera for photos. Documents and receipts print to the printers the phone already knows.

Squawks without a signal

A squawk written where there is no signal is kept on the phone, photos and all, and sent once the phone is back online. Shops use the camera for intake photos too.

Charts offline

Save the sectional along your route for offline use. ADS-B In, with traffic and FIS-B weather from a GDL 90 receiver, arrives with the next release of the apps.

Every module in Mobile Apps

  • iPhone and Android apps: Book, check out, check in and report squawks from the ramp.
  • Messages and notifications: In-app messages, email and text, and browser push notifications where the device allows them.

How it connects

Feeds in:

  • Scheduling: the day's bookings
  • Maintenance: aircraft status and open squawks
  • Flight planning: the route and its charts

Feeds out:

  • Check-in: meters and photos from the ramp
  • Maintenance: squawks with photos
  • Live tracking: the position of the phone recording a flight

Questions

Where do I get the apps?

From the App Store and Google Play. They are free with your school's plan; there is nothing extra to buy.

Is the app the same as the website?

Yes. It shows the same Flight Suite HQ, so it is never behind the web version and everything you can do in the browser you can do in the app.

Does the app send push notifications?

Notifications come in the app, by email and by text, and as browser notifications where your device allows them. The apps do not yet send their own push notifications.

Does it work without a signal?

Squawks, with their photos, are kept on the phone and sent when it is back online, and a sectional saved along your route works offline. Everything else needs a connection.

Can the app record a flight in my pocket?

It records with the app open and the screen kept awake. Recording with the screen off is not supported yet.
