Without it
- A booking is made on an aircraft that is due its 100-hour on Thursday.
- An instructor is double-booked because two people edited two calendars.
- A cancellation leaves a slot empty while three students wait for one.
What Scheduling & Dispatch does
One calendar, six views
Six views of the same bookings, from a single day to the whole month, with availability side by side. Aircraft, instructors and students are checked for conflicts as you book. Each person's chosen view is remembered.
Checks before the booking saves
Every booking is checked against the aircraft's status and upcoming maintenance and the pilot's currency. Problems show on the form, not on the ramp. One shared set of checks behind the calendar, Quick Scheduler and Schedule Builder.
A week of lessons at once
Schedule Builder lays out a week of lessons for several students around each instructor's availability and unavailable times. Lessons can be tied to the student's syllabus.
Waitlist and reassignment
When a slot frees up, the first person on the waitlist who can fly it is booked in and told. When an aircraft goes down, its bookings move to the next free aircraft in its group. Waitlist bookings pass the same checks as any other; anything that cannot be moved is listed for staff.
Check-out to check-in
The dispatch form, Hobbs and tach, fuel and squawks are recorded at the aircraft, and the invoice is built when the flight is checked in. A school can require a saved risk assessment before the aircraft is checked out.
Seven days of flying weather
Weather windows from the forecast, day by day, beside the schedule, so a bad Saturday is visible on Wednesday. Rated against your school's weather minimums, not just the flight category.

How it connects
Feeds in:
- Maintenance: inspections due and aircraft grounded
- Training: the student's next lesson and syllabus
- Safety: risk assessment at dispatch
Feeds out:
- Billing: the invoice at check-in
- Maintenance: squawks reported at check-in
- Logbook: the flight logged for pilot and aircraft
Rules it is built around
14 CFR 61.57: Recent flight experience is shown from the landings the platform has logged. The pilot in command remains responsible for being current before every flight.
14 CFR 91.409: An aircraft with an overdue inspection is taken off the schedule until the inspection is signed off. The owner or operator remains responsible for the aircraft's airworthiness.

Questions
Can students book their own flights?
Yes. Students and renters book from their own account or the iPhone and Android apps, and the same checks run on their bookings as on staff bookings. You can turn self-booking off for any role.
What happens to bookings when an aircraft is grounded?
The aircraft comes off the schedule, and its upcoming bookings move to the next free aircraft in the same group. Any booking that cannot be moved is listed for staff to resolve.
Does it handle recurring lessons?
Yes. Bookings can repeat, and Schedule Builder lays out a whole week of lessons for several students at once around instructor availability.
Can a flight be dispatched without a risk assessment?
That is your choice. A school can require a saved risk assessment before check-out, and the Check-Out button stays disabled until there is one. Until the school switches that on, the assessment is offered, not required.
Does the schedule show maintenance coming due?
Yes. Inspections due and open squawks show on the aircraft, and an overdue inspection removes the aircraft from the schedule until it is signed off.
Can we schedule simulators, rooms and other equipment?
Simulators are scheduled like aircraft. Rooms, tugs and other equipment are part of the Resource Scheduler.
