Without it

  • Lesson grades live in a binder, so nobody can see who is falling behind.
  • A stage check is missed because the syllabus is on paper and the schedule is not.
  • An inspector asks for a student's record and it takes a day to assemble.

What Training does

Syllabi you control

Start from a Part 61 or Part 141 template or build your own, with stages, lessons and published versions. Students stay on the version they enrolled in. Upgrading a student to a new version is a deliberate staff action.

Grade the lesson, item by item

Log a lesson against the syllabus and grade each item on your own scale. The grades feed the student's proficiency, not just a checkbox. Lessons can be tied to the booking and logged at check-in.

Stage checks that gate

Stage checks and progress checks are scheduled, recorded and gated, so a student moves on only when the stage is passed. The chief instructor sees who is waiting on a check.

Endorsements, signed

AC 61-65K endorsement templates, filled in and signed electronically by the instructor, with the instructor's ratings stamped on the signature. Kept with the student's record.

Readiness and cost to complete

Each student shows as eligible, proficient and on pace, with a projected checkride date and a cost-to-complete estimate from your own rates. An optional weekly digest emails the student, and a parent or sponsor, their progress.

The whole record as one PDF

Milestone cards for first solos and checkrides, and the student's complete training record exported as a single PDF. Records are kept under AC 120-78B electronic recordkeeping.

How it connects

Feeds in:

  • Scheduling: lessons booked against the syllabus
  • Check-in: flight time logged to the lesson
  • Live Tracking: the recorded track beside the lesson

Feeds out:

  • Billing: the lesson invoiced with the flight
  • Compliance: signed, tamper-evident records
  • Scheduling: the next lesson and stage check

Rules it is built around

AC 61-65K: Endorsement wording follows the advisory circular's templates. The instructor remains responsible for every endorsement they sign.

14 CFR 141.101: Part 141 schools keep each student's training record in one place, exportable on request. The school remains responsible for the accuracy and retention of its records.

AC 120-78B: Electronic signatures and records are signed, timestamped and corrected only through a recorded correction. Acceptance of electronic records for your operation rests with your FAA office.

Questions

Can we use our own Part 141 syllabus?

Yes. Build it from scratch or start from a template and change it. Publishing a new version does not move students already enrolled; staff upgrade them deliberately.

How are lessons graded?

Each lesson item is graded on a scale you choose, and you can keep more than one scale. The grades build the student's proficiency over time.

Does it support Part 61 and Part 141 at the same school?

Yes. Each program is its own syllabus, and a student is enrolled in the program they are training under.

Can students see their own progress?

Yes. Students see their syllabus, grades and next lessons, and can opt in to a weekly progress email.

How do endorsements work?

Instructors choose an AC 61-65K template, fill it in and sign it electronically. The endorsement is stored with the student's record and the instructor's ratings are stamped on it.

Is there knowledge test preparation?

Yes. Knowledge Test Prep has a question bank, practice tests and per-subject results for the FAA knowledge tests, included in every plan.
